Nutrition/Dietitian
A registered dietitian is an expert in understanding the connection between healthy eating and a healthy body. The dietitian designs food plans for and with individuals who have been diagnosed with pre-diabetes, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, eating disorders or individuals who have specific sports interests and goals.
To obtain registration as a dietitian, the individual must complete a four year degree (including classes in biochemistry, physiology and food science) plus have clinical experience prior to taking a national examination. In the State of Montana, the title “dietitian” and “nutritionist” are synonymous and cannot be used by anyone unless they meet these criteria.
Patients are seen on a self or doctor referral basis.
